EV-312: Implementing IEC 62443-4-2 requirements in OCPP 2.0.1 2025v1.0 [PUBLIC]

To support CPOs and local governments in procuring secure EV charging stations, ENCS and ElaadNL publish a set of security requirements for charging stations. The latest version of these requirements, EV-311 Security requirements from IEC 62443 for procuring EV charging stations version 2024v0.4, is based on the IEC 62443-4-2 standard. IEC 62443-4-2 is a standard that provides technical component requirements for devices that are part of industrial automation and control systems (IACS).
Many charging stations use the OCPP protocol to communicate with a charging station management system (CSMS). Hence, it is important for charging station manufacturers to know how the requirements in EV-311 can be implemented in OCPP.
This document shows that many of the IEC 62443-4-2 requirements selected in EV-311 can be met in OCPP by implementing the standard security functions in the OCPP 2.0.1 standard or in OCPP 1.6 with the security whitepaper.
