The ENCS General Assembly has confirmed the Security Programs for 2021. The programs were developed during 2020 together with the ENCS strategy assembly and security experts at members. ENCS will continue the long-term work in the Security Policy, Architecture and Operations Programs. The focus will be on supporting the development and future implementation of the upcoming Network Code on Cybersecurity.
In the 2020 program, ENCS created more than 30 documents, available to its members through the ENCS portal (https://encs.eu/documents/). Highlights include requirements for hardware security measures, a market survey and test results of OT security sensors in substations, a risk assessment and security measures for Distributed Energy Resources (DER), a security architecture and requirements for SCADA systems, a security architecture and requirements for sensors and IoT devices and updates on the revised NIS directive.
In 2021, the Policy Program will focus on supporting the network code drafting team, analyzing risks in the electricity supply chain, and sharing knowledge about implementing information security management systems. The Architecture Program will continue work on a product assurance scheme and architectures and requirements for both central systems and field devices. The Operations Program will focus on establishing a community of security operations analysts at ENCS members to share information about vulnerabilities and incidents.
