CRA standardisation update: January

From December 2027, all products used by TSOs and DSOs will need to comply with the CRA. The detailed requirements that manufacturers will need to meet will come from the harmonized standards. These standards will be developed in 2026. If they are too strict, they may lead to significant extra costs or the unavailability of products. To mitigate this risk, ENCS has created a plan to review the standards together with our members:

At this stage, we are monitoring the developments of relevant standards as well as preparing to submit comments for the ones currently in enquiry (the commenting period for the public). To keep you further informed about this work, we are launching monthly updates on our progress.

Correspondingly, the harmonized standard on Vulnerability Handling (EN 40000-1-3) is currently in enquiry phase. Therefore, we are planning to review the standard with our members through a workshop. The workshop will be held on February 11, from 15:00 to 16:30. To participate in the workshop, please send an email to info@encs.eu.
