With the cybersecurity act in 2019, the European commission started a lot of work on cybersecurity certification schemes for products.
There are two upcoming regulations that will put market access requirements on manufacturers, namely the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) and the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). CEN/CENELEC is currently working on an updated draft of the harmonized standard for the RED cybersecurity requirements, while the final CRA version is now subject to formal approval by the European Parliament and the Council, while standardization work is already being carried out by the JRC.
In this webinar, gave an overview of the schemes that are under development, and their applicability to components used by grid operators, such as smart meters.
