SC-201-2022: Security architecture for SCADA, EMS and (A)DMS systems [DRAFT]

This document provides a recommended security architecture for SCADA, EMS, and (A)DMS systems. It gives a set of technical measures that grid operators can implement to mitigate security risks.

The SCADA, EMS and (A)DMS systems are the core of a grid operation infrastructure for both transmission system operators (TSOs) and distribution system operators (DSOs). This core position system also makes them attractive targets to anyone trying to sabotage the electricity grid. Through these systems, they can control thousands of field devices. So, the systems should be strongly secured.

The security architecture provides guidance on what technical measures to take to secure SCADA, EMS and (A)DMS systems. It can be used by departments designing and maintaining these systems to determine which measures they should take
