An independent Strategic Advisory Board with seasoned executives providing advice on request in the strategic planning and decision-making process to the ENCS management Board was installed on 29 October 2019. Members of the Strategic Advisory Board act also as ambassadors on request of the ENCS Management Board, to develop and strengthen relationships with important ENCS stakeholder groups, in particular E.DSO and ENTSO-E and its members.

The Strategic Advisory Board has no formal powers and will not interfere with formal ENCS decision making by the ENCS General Assembly, the Assembly Committee and the Management Board.

Robert Denda

Dr. Robert Denda is Head of Network Technology and Innovability at the Global Infrastructure and Networks business line of the Enel group, responsible for technologies developed and applied at Enel’s worldwide distribution grids, serving 65 million grid customers.

Previously, from 2014 to 2015 he worked within this business line function as Head of Smart Metering Solutions.

Previous responsibilities include the coordination of the smart metering roll-out project of 13 million meters at Endesa in Spain, R&D department director and innovation manager in the telecommunication sector, and Manager of technology services at Endesa Ingenieria.

He is also an active participant at European and international associations related to the Energy sector.

He holds a diploma degree in Computer Science and Business Administration and a PhD from the University of Mannheim, Germany

Peter Molengraaf

Peter Molengraaf has been Chairman of the Executive Board of Alliander (largest Dutch Electricity and Natural Gas Grid Operating Company) from 2009-2017.

At the moment, he advises large and smaller companies in the field of strategy, energy and digitalization. His specific focus is on companies in the field of sustainable energy storage and EV infrastructure. He is also Chairman of HollandSolar, the Dutch solar industry association.

As a Non-Executive Board member, he is chairman of the Supervisory Board of AEB and Greenflux, and a member of the Supervisory Boards of Vopak The Netherlands, Kadaster and of Ecovat.

In recent years, Peter also was chairman of Netbeheer Nederland, the Dutch Industry Association for Electricity and Natural Gas Grid Operator companies.

Peter Molengraaf previously worked in various management positions at Nuon (2005-2009) and Shell (1990-2014). He studied Informatics at the Delft University of Technology and holds an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management at the Erasmus University. Afterwards he participated in Executive Programs of INSEAD in Fontainebleau and Singularity University in the US, California.

David Peters

David Peters was appointed Chief Transition Officer within the Executive Board as of 1 January 2018. He has held the position of Strategy Director at Stedin since May 2015 and was responsible for strategy and innovation within Stedin.

Prior to joining Stedin, he worked for Boston Consulting Group (BCG) for eight years in the Netherlands and abroad on strategy and organization transformations in particular in the energy sector. He was a member of the Dutch National Think Tank.

David studied Applied Physics at Eindhoven University of Technology and Applied Ethics at the University of Leuven

Franz Strempfl

Dipl.-Ing. Dr. Franz Strempfl is general manager of Energienetze Steiermark GmbH, which is the DSO company of electricity and gas within the Energie Steiermark Group.

He is Speaker of the Austrian DSO/TSO within Österreichs Energie, the association of Austrians electric utilities and Vice Chair of the European DSO association EDSO for Smart Grids.
