ENCS and ElaadNL are organizing a workshop to present their new security requirements to vendors of EV charging stations.  The workshop will be held online on 30 April 2020 from 14:30 to 16:00. If you are interested in participating, please contact us at info@encs.eu.

EV security requirements

The new EV charging security requirements were developed in 2019. They are an update of the requirements for EV charging system security that ElaadNL and ENCS published in 2016. The 2016 requirements have already been used by several Dutch provinces and municipalities when procuring charging stations.

The new requirement set consist of:

The requirements are aligned with the new security features in OCPP 1.6 and 2.0. They are based on an assessment of the security risks to EV charging infrastructures. The feasibility of the procurement requirements was validated in a market survey among EV charging station vendors.

Workshop

The agenda of the EV charging security requirements workshop is:

  • Explanation of how provinces and municipalities are using the requirements to procure new charging stations by ElaadNL
  • Overview of the requirements and how they can be implemented by ENCS
  • Questions from vendors participating in the call

The call also provides vendors an opportunity to give feedback on how the requirements may be improved in the future.

Requirements check-up

ENCS is offering to check participant’s requirements against the requirements free of charge. If vendors send documentation on their solution after the call, ENCS will check if their security measures meet the requirements. ENCS will then offer recommendations on improving security. In this way, vendors can check if their solutions meets the requirements before they submit it to a tender.
