Successful second ENCS Security Architecture training

On September 10 and 11, ENCS held its second Security Architecture training at Schiphol with representatives from both member and non-member companies in attendance. Participants learned how to design risk-based security architectures for Operational Technology (OT) systems by working through four practical cases. The approach taught is based on the ISO 27005 and IEC 62443 standards involving four steps: zoning, conducting a risk assessment, selecting mitigating security measures and evaluating their effectiveness.

The rapidly evolving world of cyber security and the exceptionality of OT systems make trainings, such as ENCS’ Security Architecture training, critical for developing the technical capabilities to address the vulnerabilities of today and tomorrow. Grid operators, industry associations and anyone involved in the design of OT systems for smart grids greatly benefit from our hands-on training. This is not merely by learning how to design and implement secure networks, but also by enhancing participants’ cyber security awareness and offering a platform for knowledge sharing.
