On the 29th-31st January, ENCS will join Europe’s preeminent smart grid companies in Amsterdam for Smart Grid Forums’ Intrusion Detection event, where, Director, Technology Dr. Maarten Hoeve, will share his insights with the audience.

The event will bring together more than 120 cyber security specialists from the electrical power, distribution and transmission sectors to discuss the design and use of intrusion detection systems.

With the NIS Directive and recent cyber incidents fresh in the mind, energy grid operators are looking for technical guidance on keeping their OT systems secure and ensuring compliance with the law. The conference’s focus on technical case studies, live tutorials and live demo-labs will give real, tangible benefits for the organisations that attend.

“We’re looking forward to the event in January,” says Dr Hoeve. “Both so that we can share our research and experience with the community, and that we can learn from our peers as well. Intrusion detection is a vital part of a good cyber security programme. No system is impenetrable, so it’s crucial to know if and when intruders have found their way in.”
