We held our second exclusive ENCS member and partner event in Amsterdam last week. It brought together our members, partners and staff to share information on the latest cyber security developments and projects.

The day kicked off with a presentation from Walter van Boven, IT Manager Alliander and Chairman of the ENCS Assembly Committee. The presentation highlighted the need for industry collaboration to ensure the safety and security of critical national infrastructure. Walter emphasised the vital role that ENCS is playing in reaching this goal. Participants also heard talks from some of our members and partners on a wide range of topics, from governance, security requirements, testing and standardisation, to malware and threat developments and electric vehicle charging. A lively Q&A discussion followed.

“Last year’s event was a huge success and gave a boost to the growth of our network this year. We were very happy to welcome ST, the maintainer and developer of the electricity network in Latvia, as a new member at the strategy assembly the previous day, where we discussed priority topics including OT security monitoring and vulnerability sharing,” Anjos Nijk, ENCS Managing Director, commented. “Our exclusive member and partner event has evolved in various ways, as we now have additional participants, a wider variety of topics on the agenda and a new, interactive discussion. We all enjoyed and appreciated this unique information and knowledge sharing opportunity.”

Walter van Boven, added “I am proud of what ENCS has accomplished since its launch in 2012. Growing from 5 to 24 members and partners has given ENCS a truly European footprint to support utilities in enhancing their cyber security. The event’s content and the collaboration it achieved demonstrates ENCS’s impact and success. Once more I would like to thank Anjos Nijk, Michael John and Maarten Hoeve, for this achievement.”

We are looking forward to organising similar events in the future and working together with our members and partners to enhance Europe’s cyber security even further. We are happy to announce that the next member and partner event will take place on 10th October 2018. If you are interested in becoming a member, please do not hesitate to follow this link.
